Hong Kong Welcomes Snooker Stars Under Talent Scheme

The city of Hong Kong has recently become home to snooker superstars Ronnie O'Sullivan and Judd Trump. Both have gained residency through the Quality Migrant Admission Scheme (QMAS). This initiative attracts top professionals to live and work in Hong Kong, enhancing the region's talent pool.

O'Sullivan, a seven-time world champion, and Trump, current world No.1, are no strangers to Hong Kong. They look forward to exploring new opportunities within its dynamic environment. Trump's successful residency application was announced on December 24, and both express enthusiasm for the city's vibrant lifestyle.

As residents, O'Sullivan and Trump will compete in the World Grand Prix at the upcoming Kai Tak Sports Park in March 2025. This venue promises to elevate Hong Kong's sports and entertainment sector, marking a new chapter for the city.

The Secretary for Labour and Welfare, Chris Sun, emphasizes the success of QMAS in attracting talent, citing Hong Kong's appealing aspects such as its tax system and quality of life.
