Huawei Advances AI Infrastructure with New SuperPoDs

The rapid evolution of AI and the increasing demand for computing power are at the forefront of Huawei's strategic focus. At the HUAWEI CONNECT 2026 event in Shanghai, David Wang, Deputy Chairman, unveiled significant developments in AI infrastructure. Huawei introduced the Atlas 960E SuperPoD, the industry's first to utilize Near-Packaged Optics (NPO), marking a breakthrough in AI computing. This SuperPoD can support up to 4,096 NPUs, achieving 8 EFLOPS of compute performance.

Huawei's commitment to open ecosystems remains strong, with the Kunpeng and Ascend platforms drawing millions of developers globally.
