Huawei and China Telecom Win GSMA GLOMO Award for Educational Innovation

In Barcelona, Huawei and China Telecom received the GSMA GLOMO award for Best Mobile Innovation for Enhancing the Lives of Children and Young People. This accolade at MWC 2026 recognized their Qingjiao Plan in China's Langcang County, which supports education equity in rural areas.

The initiative, developed by the China Social Entrepreneur Foundation and launched in 2019, leverages China Telecom's 5G network and Huawei's WeLink platform. It provides rural teachers and students with access to quality learning resources and an online community for training.

Since its inception, nearly 180,000 young rural teachers across China have been trained, indirectly benefiting millions of students. In Langcang County alone, 600 teachers and 5,000 students have received support.

The GLOMO judging panel praised the plan's scale and impact, highlighting its comprehensive benefits through connectivity and teacher resources.
