Huawei Launches Next-Generation Smart String Grid-Forming ESS Platform

Huawei has introduced its new Smart String Grid-Forming ESS Platform, named LUTERRA, at Intersolar Europe in Munich. This platform marks significant technological advancements aimed at boosting customer success. Notably, Huawei's grid-forming technology has already been demonstrated in the world's largest 100% renewable energy microgrid at The Red Sea resort in Saudi Arabia.

The LUTERRA platform features high round-trip efficiency, precise state of charge control, and cell-to-pack optimization. It employs high-voltage silicon carbide switching and intelligent distributed cooling technology, enhancing performance for long-duration energy storage applications. Huawei's architecture allows flexibility in installation and capacity expansion.
