Hyundai Mobis Boosts Electrification in Europe with New Slovakia Plant

Hyundai Mobis has inaugurated its first Power Electric (PE) system plant in Europe, located in Nováky, Slovakia. This facility will bolster the company's role in Europe's electrification market by producing up to 280,000 PE systems annually. These systems are crucial for electric vehicles, combining electric motors, inverters, and reduction gears.

The opening event included Slovak dignitaries such as Prime Minister Robert Fico, underscoring Slovakia's importance in Hyundai Mobis' strategy. With an investment of roughly KRW 250 billion, the plant is a strategic move to strengthen ties with automakers like Kia and Volkswagen, reinforcing Hyundai Mobis' position in the global market.

Hyundai Mobis emphasizes establishing strategic European bases to capture the region's growing EV market. The Slovakia plant complements existing facilities in the Czech Republic and Spain, part of a global network that includes sites in Korea, the US, and Indonesia.
