Hyundai Mobis Expands Power Electric Systems to All EV Models
Hyundai Mobis has developed a new 160-kilowatt Power Electric (PE) system for general-purpose models, enhancing its electrification portfolio. This follows their previous high-efficiency, 250-kW PE system. By the first half of the year, a 120-kW version aimed at small mobility vehicles will join the lineup, providing a comprehensive range for various electric vehicles.
With in-house R&D, Hyundai Mobis has achieved complete control over PE system design and production. The standardized, modular system enhances scalability, fitting multiple vehicle models. This approach contrasts with the traditional method of bespoke powertrains for each vehicle, aligning with increased EV model demand.
The 160-kW system suits most mass-produced EVs, with improved power-to-weight ratio and reduced volume through modular design. Hyundai Mobis plans to offer these innovations to global customers, building on existing battery system orders and aiming for increased profitability through dual roles in design and production.
