Idaho Strategic Discovers Carbonatite at Lemhi Pass

Idaho Strategic Resources has discovered a carbonatite at the Lucky Horseshoe prospect within their Lemhi Pass project. Samples from the outcrop showed up to 6.14% total rare earth oxides (TREO), with magnet rare earth oxides accounting for 65% and SEG oxides for 11%. This discovery challenges previous geological assumptions about the region.

Carbonatites, known for hosting critical minerals, are primary sources of REEs globally. This finding marks Lemhi Pass as a potential new site for REE exploration, previously believed to be confined to northern Idaho. The discovery includes a reinterpretation of the area's geological setting, emphasizing a newfound link between the REEs and carbonatites.

Ongoing soil geochemistry and radiometric surveys aim to identify further carbonatite occurrences. Initial drill testing is planned for the Lucky Horseshoe and In-Trust prospects. This marks a significant development in Idaho's REE exploration efforts.
