Immunic Appoints Erik Lundgren as New CEO

Immunic, a late-stage biotechnology company, has announced the appointment of Erik Lundgren as Chief Executive Officer, effective June 1, 2026. Lundgren, who succeeds Dr. Daniel Vitt, brings extensive experience in the biopharmaceutical industry, particularly in multiple sclerosis (MS). His role will focus on leading Immunic through the late-stage development and potential commercialization of its lead asset, vidofludimus calcium.

Vidofludimus calcium is currently in pivotal phase 3 trials for relapsing multiple sclerosis and a planned phase 3 program for primary progressive multiple sclerosis. The transition of Immunic towards a commercial-stage neurology company hinges on these developments. Lundgren's previous work at Genentech and his involvement in launching Ocrevus® bolster his qualifications for his new role.

Immunic aims to deliver a differentiated treatment option targeting both relapsing and progressive MS. Lundgren's extensive expertise is expected to aid the company's strategic growth and regulatory preparations.
