Indigo Agriculture Secures Major Carbon Deal with Microsoft
Indigo Agriculture has announced a significant agreement with Microsoft for the sale of 2.85 million soil carbon removal credits over 12 years. This deal, one of the largest in soil carbon trading, supports numerous American farmers and covers millions of U.S. acres under Indigo's Carbon by Indigo program.
This agreement marks the third transaction between Indigo and Microsoft, building on previous purchases of 40,000 tonnes in 2024 and 60,000 tonnes in 2025. The collaboration emphasizes Microsoft's ambition to be carbon negative by 2030 and highlights Indigo's leading role in scalable, high-integrity soil carbon removals.
Regenerative agriculture, recognized for its carbon removal potential, also contributes to improved soil health and water conservation, offering benefits to rural communities and driving local investment. This initiative by Indigo reflects its dedication to enhancing project quality and strengthening the carbon market.
