Hong Kong Universities Shine in Global Rankings
Hong Kong's universities have achieved impressive standings in the 2027 World University Rankings by Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), with five institutions in the global top 100 and two in the top 20 for the first time. The University of Hong Kong held its 11th position, while The Chinese University of Hong Kong climbed to 18th. These accomplishments underscore Hong Kong’s status as an education hub, supported by the Hong Kong SAR Government's investment and policies.
The strategic focus on education is further highlighted by outstanding performances in the U.S. News & World Report rankings. Hong Kong institutions hold top positions in 20 subjects globally, emphasizing their role in education and academic research. This success is attributed to the Government's stable investment and clear policy guidance, alongside universities' efforts to recruit world-class talent and enhance infrastructure.
The "Study in Hong Kong" initiative aims to attract global talent by promoting academic resources internationally, aligning with China's strategic educational goals. The Government has increased enrolment capacities for non-local students, fostering a diverse and international academic community.
