Paul Chan Showcases Hong Kong at World Economic Forum
Paul Chan, Financial Secretary of Hong Kong SAR, attended the World Economic Forum in Davos to highlight Hong Kong's role as a trade and financial hub. Engaging with global leaders, he discussed pressing economic issues and fostered international cooperation.
Chan attended a breakfast by Animoca Brands, emphasizing Hong Kong's balanced approach to digital asset development, and noted the city's progress in virtual asset trading and tokenised green bonds issuance.
In discussions with officials from Thailand, Gulf States, Egypt, and Switzerland, Chan explored collaboration opportunities in trade and finance. He reinforced Hong Kong's support for free trade and WTO reforms with Director-General Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala.
Meeting with Oman’s Minister of Economy, Chan advocated for Hong Kong as a partner in Oman's economic diversification and infrastructure development.
