Inventiva Completes Key Milestone in MASH Clinical Trial
Inventiva announced the completion of the final patient visit in its NATiV3 Phase 3 clinical trial for lanifibranor. The trial involved 1,009 patients in the main cohort and 410 in an exploratory cohort, testing the drug’s efficacy in treating MASH with fibrosis. Results are anticipated in Q4 2026.
Lanifibranor, an oral treatment targeting MASH, seeks FDA approval following favorable trial results, with a potential U.S. launch in 2028. The study also includes a 48-week extension to assess long-term safety, with all patients receiving the active treatment.
CEO Andrew Obenshain highlighted this milestone’s importance for patients facing limited options. The trial seeks to demonstrate lanifibranor’s benefit in resolving MASH and improving fibrosis, following promising results from earlier trials.
