Ipsen Acquires Kartos Therapeutics, Bolsters Oncology Pipeline
Paris, France, August 21, 2026 - Ipsen has finalized the acquisition of Kartos Therapeutics, enhancing its oncology capabilities. The acquisition introduces navtemadlin, a late-stage MDM2 inhibitor, into Ipsen's portfolio. Currently in Phase III trials, navtemadlin is being evaluated for its potential role in treating myelofibrosis, particularly for patients with inadequate responses to standard treatment with ruxolitinib.
Navtemadlin is designed to be used alongside ruxolitinib, aiming to transform suboptimal therapy responses into meaningful clinical progress for intermediate- and high-risk myelofibrosis patients. Myelofibrosis is a challenging condition characterized by bone marrow fibrosis, often linked to a risk of acute myeloid leukemia transformation.
With this acquisition, Ipsen aims to address significant gaps in treatment outcomes and improve survival rates in a patient population that has limited therapeutic options.
