Jaguar Health's Napo Pharmaceuticals Engages in Pediatric Gastroenterology Conference
Jaguar Health's subsidiary, Napo Pharmaceuticals, played a significant role in a recent pediatric gastroenterology conference held in Dubai. Highlighted at the conference was a panel discussion focusing on the challenges of pediatric intestinal failure and potential treatments.
The event, titled "Intestinal Barrier: Beyond Total Parenteral Nutrition (TPN)," brought together notable experts, including Dr. Mohamad Miqdady and Dr. Christos Tzivinikos, who discussed the potential of crofelemer, an oral medication, in reducing intestinal fluid losses.
Preliminary findings indicated that crofelemer may help reduce dependence on parenteral support in conditions like microvillus inclusion disease and short bowel syndrome. Continued trials aim to support regulatory approval, with a New Drug Application anticipated by mid-2027.
