Jindal Steel Proposes Acquisition of thyssenkrupp's Steel Segment

Jindal Steel International has initiated talks with thyssenkrupp AG for a potential acquisition of thyssenkrupp Steel Europe. Jindal submitted a Non-Binding Offer, emphasizing their financial strength and commitment to decarbonization in Germany's steel production.

Jindal Steel aims to transform thyssenkrupp into Europe’s largest low emission steelmaker. Plans include completing projects like the DRI facility in Duisburg and investing over €2 billion to increase electric arc furnace capacity in Germany.

Jindal assures supply security through a DRI plant in Oman, scheduled for 2027, utilizing iron ore from Cameroon, ensuring a robust supply chain from mining to metal processing. The aim is to enhance competitive low-carbon steel production.
