Julius Meinl Attains Full Responsibly Selected Coffee Sourcing
Julius Meinl has announced the achievement of sourcing 100% 'Responsibly Selected Coffee' for its Vienna and Vicenza production plants. This milestone is the result of extensive collaboration with green coffee suppliers and adherence to the Coffee Sustainability Reference Code (Coffee SR Code) by the Global Coffee Platform (GCP), setting sustainability criteria globally.
The criteria cover economic, social, and environmental dimensions. Economically, it promotes good farm management. Socially, it upholds human rights and community contributions. Environmentally, it ensures biodiversity protection and pollution prevention. Julius Meinl leverages third-party certifications like Fairtrade to meet these standards.
Further commitment includes tracking progress with Enveritas to continue improvement. Plans are set to ensure all Julius Meinl-branded products are 'Responsibly Selected' by 2028.
