Jungfrau Railway Group Surpasses One Million Visitors at Jungfraujoch in 2024
Jungfraubahn Holding AG reported that in 2024, more than 1 million guests visited the Jungfraujoch, reaching 1,058,600 visitors. This marks the sixth time since 2015 that the railway has surpassed the million-visitor milestone. The increase, a 5.1% rise from last year, is attributed to a rebound in group travel to pre-pandemic levels and growth in visitors from the USA, India, and Southeast Asia, though Chinese and Japanese visitors remain below pre-pandemic figures.
Further success was noted across other attractions. The Harder funicular saw a 6.4% increase, while the First gondola experienced a 10% rise in visitor numbers. The Lauterbrunnen-Mürren Mountain Rail recorded a 12.2% rise with 507,200 guests. Over 2 million passengers traveled on the Eiger Express for the second consecutive year.
Additionally, the popular Top4 ski pass saw a surge, selling around 33,000 passes before the 2024/2025 winter season, surpassing the previous season. The Jungfrau Ski Region welcomed 218,500 skier visits, a 5.1% increase, marking a historic season launch.
