Kalo Gold Corp. Confirms Potential for New Gold System in Fiji
Kalo Gold Corp., based in Vancouver, has identified a potential epithermal gold system at Wainikoro, part of its Vatu Aurum Project in Fiji. The geological mapping and soil sampling conducted in September 2025 revealed similarities to the Aurum Prime system nearby. Notably, the Wainikoro area features historical trench results of 32 m at 0.56 g/t Au, reinforcing its exploration potential.
The 2025 fieldwork demonstrated significant clay-silica alteration across a 12.5 square kilometer area. Elevated levels of arsenic, antimony, and mercury were noted, suggesting a robust geochemical profile. Hydrothermal breccias observed support the presence of near-surface epithermal activity.
Kalo plans further exploration, incorporating advanced geochemical analysis tools alongside existing geological techniques. The Nubu Graben's structural corridor, hosting both Wainikoro and Aurum Prime, suggests promising district-scale gold deposition potential.
