Kalo Gold Extends Wainikoro Corridor with Promising Gold Results
Kalo Gold Corp. has announced progress on its Vatu Aurum Project in Fiji with a 4.3-kilometer resistivity corridor at Wainikoro. This corridor remains open along strike, showing promising gold results, including samples with up to 8.78 g/t gold. Kalo Gold identified several resistivity corridors running north-south, with significant gold screening responses along these areas, leading to further exploration potential.
Recent trenching at the eastern corridor revealed hydrothermally altered breccia aligning with a high resistivity region. Notably, the trenching exposed elevated gold results near the breccia's intersections with andesitic formations. Upcoming CSAMT surveys will explore the extent and depth of these corridors to better understand their structural and mineral continuity.
The findings highlight the significance of targeting margins, terminations, and intersections in resistivity corridors as priority exploration zones. Kalo Gold plans further trenching and structural mapping to refine exploration strategies, integrating geophysical data to optimize drilling targets.
