Kalo Gold Secures Licence Renewal and Elevates Coqeloa to High-Priority Target
Kalo Gold Corp. has announced the renewal of its Special Prospecting Licence (SPL) 1511 for a three-year term in Fiji, allowing continued exploration on the Coqeloa site, part of the Vatu Aurum Project. The decision follows a reinterpretation of legacy data, which suggests Coqeloa as a significant low sulphidation epithermal gold target, without incurring further field costs.
Coqeloa, historically underexplored, exhibits several indicators of preserved epithermal gold systems. Key findings include high grade gold up to 33.0 g/t from surface samples and substantial alteration corridors. These features align with comparative Pacific Rim gold systems, drawing parallels to the Martha deposit in Waihi.
Kalo plans further exploration, focusing on geological mapping, expanded soil grid analysis, and drilling tests beneath silicified ridges. The renewal supports exploration activities through March 2028.
