Kalray and OpenChip sign a strategic agreement for the development of DPUs

Semiconductor company Kalray has announced a partnership with OpenChip & Software Technologies to develop DPU processors for artificial intelligence. European player OpenChip has committed to paying €4 million for a portion of Kalray's intellectual property, improving the latter's liquidity through August 2025.
The two companies plan to sign a €10 million service contract. This agreement could involve the participation of approximately fifty employees, thus extending liquidity until the first quarter of 2026.
OpenChip could also acquire a stake in Kalray, potentially leading to a majority takeover, depending on the terms currently being negotiated.
