OpenChip Becomes a Shareholder of Kalray
Kalray, a company specializing in data processing technologies, announced that OpenChip Software & Technologies has fully exercised its share subscription warrants. This transaction results in OpenChip acquiring 2,881,577 shares, representing roughly 15% of Kalray's share capital on a fully diluted basis as of June 30, 2026.
The agreement between Kalray and OpenChip was initially set in May 2025, permitting OpenChip to purchase these shares. Kalray, known for its innovative "manycore" architecture and MPPA® processors, continues to focus on boosting efficiency in applications that handle large data volumes.
OpenChip, headquartered in Barcelona, focuses on AI and HPC applications, leveraging RISC-V–based accelerators. This acquisition marks a significant partnership in the tech industry.
