KAP AG Restructures Engineered Products Segment
KAP AG has announced a strategic decision to restructure its production capacities within the engineered products segment. This entails closing the Hessisch Lichtenau site by 30 June 2027, with key facilities and production gradually relocated to existing plants in Hlinsko, Czech Republic, and Bangalore, India. This move aims to strengthen operational competitiveness under the company's ongoing restructuring plan.
Ralph Rumberg, CEO/CRO of KAP AG, stated that the decision follows a thorough analysis of regional demand shifts and competitive conditions, deeming the closure necessary to enhance resource efficiency. Stefan Herfurth, head of the engineered products segment, cited Germany's structural disadvantages and high operational costs as key reasons for the site closure decision. The company pledges support for the 100 affected employees during their transition.
