Kris Vervaet appointed CIO of the KBC Group
KBC has appointed Kris Vervaet as Group Chief Information Officer (CIO), subject to regulatory approval. He will succeed Erik Luts, who is retiring on August 31, after a career marked by a significant contribution to KBC's digital transformation. Luts began his career in education before moving into the technology sector, where he played a key role in developing KBC's digital services.
Kris Vervaet, with over 30 years of experience in technology and digital transformation, will take up his new role on September 1st. A graduate of Ghent University, he has held management positions at Proximus and EDF, among others. Since joining KBC, he has introduced automation and efficiency initiatives. Vervaet says he is honored and eager to continue Luts' work and strengthen KBC's digital position.
