Kexing Biopharm Advances GB10 in Phase I Clinical Trial in China

Kexing Biopharm has enrolled its first participant in the Phase I clinical trial of GB10, an innovative ophthalmic drug. This trial, located in China, represents a significant step for Shenzhen Kexing Pharmaceutical, a subsidiary of Kexing Biopharm. GB10 is designed to treat neovascular age-related macular degeneration (nAMD), a leading cause of blindness among those over 50.

GB10 is a high-concentration ophthalmic protein drug featuring a bispecific antibody targeting VEGF and Ang-2. It offers a promising "once per four months" dosing schedule, which could enhance patient compliance by extending dosing intervals. Preclinical trials have shown GB10's potential in inhibiting pathological ocular neovascularization effectively.

Amid rising demand for ophthalmic treatments due to aging populations and increased screen time, Kexing Biopharm is expanding its R&D pipeline. The company is also introducing products like Aflibercept biosimilars and Olopatadine Hydrochloride eye drops to international markets, aiming for continued innovation and global expansion.
