Kolmar Korea Ventures into Scalp and Hair Sun Care

Kolmar Korea is expanding its sun care portfolio to include groundbreaking products for scalp and hair protection as part of the global "skinification" trend. They have introduced the "Scalp Sun Essence," a lightweight SPF50+ product specifically for the scalp, and are developing formats such as mists and sprays. These will primarily launch in Korea, with plans to expand to the U.S. market next year.

Additionally, Kolmar Korea has created a "photoprotective hair composition" aimed at protecting hair from harmful UV rays and light exposure, using silicone oils to scatter light effectively while minimizing photodamage. To address the lack of standardized methods, the company has developed a technique to evaluate hair UV protection by analyzing color changes pre- and post-exposure.

Kolmar, holding a significant share of Korea's sun care market, intends to leverage its extensive R&D capabilities to lead the evolving hair sun care market globally.
