Lactips and SmartSolve Join Forces for Plastic-Free Packaging Revolution
On September 18, 2026, Lactips, a French leader in bio-based polymers, and SmartSolve, a U.S. innovator in water-soluble packaging, announced a global strategic partnership. This collaboration aims to accelerate the transition away from plastic packaging with their product, PureNil™ 0, the first 100% plastic-free, flexible packaging substrate that disperses in water without microplastic residue.
From 2024, the companies worked together, rapidly advancing PureNil™ 0 from development to commercial scale. This packaging is approved for direct food contact and caters to various markets, including beauty and food. Beyond PureNil™ 0, the partnership plans to introduce future generations of bio-based, plastic-free solutions.
Jonathan Jakubowski, CEO of SmartSolve, emphasized the importance of this innovation for the industry. Alexis von Tschammer, CEO of Lactips, highlighted the partnership as a milestone for global expansion and environmental impact.
