Holcim to Acquire Fermacell in Strategic Expansion

Holcim has announced an agreement to acquire Fermacell from James Hardie Industries plc. Fermacell, a European leader in sustainable walling and flooring solutions, is projected to achieve net sales of approximately EUR 430 million in 2026. This acquisition enhances Holcim's portfolio with premium brands such as fermacell® and Aestuver®.

Headquartered in Dusseldorf, Germany, Fermacell operates in 13 European markets with six production sites. Holcim CEO Miljan Gutovic stated that this acquisition aligns with Holcim's NextGen Growth 2030 strategy, enhancing its high-value Building Solutions and sustainable construction efforts.

The transaction, valued at EUR 840 million, is expected to be EPS accretive in its first year and reflects an EBITDA multiple of 9.5x, or 7.6x after synergies of EUR 22 million. It requires regulatory clearance and is anticipated to close in the first half of 2027.
