Growing Interest in Real Asset Special AIFs and Infrastructure Investments
The LAGRANGE Fund Monitor for the first half of 2025 highlights a surge in interest among German institutional investors towards real estate and infrastructure special AIFs. Food retail has gained significant traction alongside residential properties, which remain highly sought after. Additionally, logistics, real estate debt, and data centers have drawn considerable attention. Core-plus investments surpassed core investments, while interest in value-add investments increased notably.
Regionally, Germany continues as the primary market for real estate special AIFs, with strong interest in Benelux and France. Conversely, interest in the U.S. has decreased. Infrastructure funds, particularly battery storage and solar, have attracted growing attention. The secondary market plays a crucial role, with prominent focus on residential and food retail units.
