Lahontan Gold Corp Begins Drilling at West Santa Fe
Lahontan Gold Corp, listed on TSXV and OTCQB, has commenced drilling at its West Santa Fe project near the flagship Santa Fe Mine in Nevada. This marks the start of the company's maiden drill campaign in the area. The focus is on "twining" historic drill holes from the 1980s to validate the existing database. Prior operators had completed 171 drill holes, totaling over 13,000 meters at West Santa Fe. Verification of this data could support future mineral resource estimates for the project.
In 2025, Lahontan completed its Phase Two drilling at the Santa Fe Mine project, drilling 20 reverse-circulation holes aimed at expanding gold and silver resources, especially in the Slab and York areas. The depth of drilling reached 194 meters in oxidized and altered rock formations. The company plans to update the Santa Fe Mine's Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE) in early 2026 and incorporate it into a Preliminary Economic Assessment.
