LANXESS Exceeds Fourth Quarter Expectations with Strong EBITDA

LANXESS Aktiengesellschaft, a specialty chemicals company, reported an EBITDA pre exceptionals of approximately EUR 159 million for the fourth quarter of 2024, surpassing market expectations by 22%. This figure significantly exceeds the VARA consensus of EUR 130 million.
For the entire year, LANXESS anticipates an EBITDA pre exceptionals of around EUR 614 million, marking a 20% increase from the previous year. This growth aligns with the upper end of their earlier projections of 10-20% growth. A notable boost in the fourth quarter was attributed to stronger customer pre-buying, particularly in the U.S., which positively impacted the Specialty Additives and Consumer Protection segments.
Despite these financial achievements, the macroeconomic landscape for 2025 remains unchanged. LANXESS's net financial debt is expected to close the year at approximately EUR 2.4 billion, slightly reduced from EUR 2.5 billion at the end of 2023. The company's final results for the quarter and fiscal year will be disclosed on March 20, 2025. All current figures remain preliminary and unaudited.
