Lease Suspension Impacting Ørsted's Wind Projects

On December 22, 2025, Ørsted A/S announced that Revolution Wind LLC, a joint venture with Skyborn Renewables, and Sunrise Wind LLC, a fully-owned subsidiary, received 90-day lease suspension orders from the U.S. Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM). These suspensions affect ongoing activities on the outer continental shelf, with potential extensions. Ørsted and its partners are examining all options for resolution, including consultations with BOEM and potential legal actions.

Despite disruptions, Revolution Wind and Sunrise Wind remain on track for completion, aiming to deliver power starting in 2026. These projects, securing all permits after extensive assessments, are poised to supply a combined total of 1,628 MW to Rhode Island, Connecticut, and New York. With thousands of working hours logged and hundreds employed, these endeavors highlight Ørsted's significant investment in U.S. infrastructure.
