Lenzing and Energie AG Extend Partnership Through 2040

Lenzing AG and Energie AG Umwelt Service will continue their cooperation in the Reststoffverwertung Lenzing (RVL) project until 2040. This extension ensures long-term security of supply and supports climate protection efforts at the Lenzing site. The partnership, crucial for decarbonization, replaces the use of up to 85 million Nm³ of natural gas annually.

The agreement includes a retrofit program for 2026/27 to improve plant availability and energy efficiency. It also establishes clear guidelines for handling emission-related costs, ensuring compliance with the 2024 Waste Incineration Ordinance for stricter environmental standards.

This collaboration highlights a commitment to the circular economy, bolstering industrial value creation and sustainable development in the region, aligning with Lenzing’s transformation strategy.
