Lloyds Banking Group's Strong Q3 2026 Financial Performance
Lloyds Banking Group has reported strong financial results for the first nine months of 2026. The Group achieved a statutory profit before tax of £6.6 billion, an increase from £4.7 billion in the same period last year, driven by higher total income and lower remediation charges. Net interest income rose by 10% year-on-year to £11.1 billion, with a banking net interest margin of 3.21%.
The Group's credit performance remained stable, with low arrears and an underlying impairment charge of £930 million. Customer deposits grew by £6.3 billion, while loans and advances increased by £14.4 billion. Despite inflationary pressures, operating costs saw a marginal rise of 1% year-on-year.
Lloyds continues to deliver on its strategic goals and remains on track to meet its 2026 full-year financial guidance. The Group aims to extend its positive performance into the new "Accelerate 2030" strategy phase, fostering sustainable value for customers and shareholders.
