LUDWIG BECK Experiences Modest Growth Amid Volatile Retail Market
Munich, July 24, 2025 – In the first half of 2025, LUDWIG BECK AG recorded a year-on-year sales increase of 1.5%, with total gross sales reaching €37.8 million. This modest growth occurred despite a 4% sales decline for German fashion retailers, as reported by TextilWirtschaft. LUDWIG BECK's textile segment saw an increase to €29.0 million, while the non-textile segment slightly decreased to €8.8 million.
The online shop contributed positively with a 5.4% sales increase. However, consumer sentiment remained cautious, influenced by macroeconomic uncertainties and disrupted local public transport, affecting foot traffic in Marienplatz.
Financially, net gross profit rose from €15.1 million to €15.5 million. Personnel expenses remained stable at €8.1 million, though depreciation increased to €3.5 million. Despite these gains, earnings after taxes showed a loss of €2.7 million.
Looking ahead, LUDWIG BECK anticipates improved conditions in the third quarter, supported by the upcoming Munich Oktoberfest, a crucial period for retail sales.
