M2care and ZEISS Ventures invest in Maculaser Oy for a medical breakthrough
M2care and ZEISS Ventures have provided financial support to Maculaser Oy, a Finnish medtech company, to develop an innovative temperature-controlled retinal laser therapy. The amount of the investment remains confidential. This unique technology, originating from Aalto University, offers a non-destructive treatment for retinal diseases.
Maculaser targets major conditions such as age-related macular degeneration. Current technologies involve invasive treatments, while Maculaser's approach aims to activate the natural defense mechanisms of retinal cells. With this funding, the company is moving towards clinical trials to validate and prepare for the commercialization of its innovative solution.
