Mako Mining Discovers High-Grade Gold at El Golfo and Secures Underground Mining Permit
Mako Mining Corp. has reported promising results from its 2025 drilling program at El Golfo, near its Las Conchitas and San Albino gold deposits in Nicaragua. The program involved 137 drill holes totaling 17,885 meters to map high-grade gold mineralization and investigate untapped areas.
Key drilling highlights include 18.34 g/t of gold over 4.2 meters and 74.90 g/t over 1 meter. These findings reflect the continuation of gold-bearing quartz veins extending 630 meters along a strike and up to 305 meters down-dip.
El Golfo’s geological structure mirrors that of the recently mined San Albino and Las Conchitas deposits. This new discovery suggests substantial potential for further expansion. Concurrently, Mako has received an underground mining permit for Las Conchitas, allowing daily extraction of 150-250 tonnes over six years alongside open-pit operations.
