Marie Brizard Wine & Spirits: Revenue decline in Q1 2026
Marie Brizard Wine & Spirits (MBWS) announced a 9.6% decrease in revenue for the first quarter of 2026, reaching €38.7 million. This result reflects a continued slowdown in the spirits market, particularly in France. While on-trade sales increased by 5.5%, sales in supermarkets and hypermarkets declined by 11.6%, impacted by the William Peel scandal.
Internationally, MBWS recorded a 13.8% decrease in sales, impacted by the temporary halt of production in Europe and a market contraction in Canada. In the United States, Sobieski's positive performance did not offset these losses. However, a slight improvement in sales was observed in the United Kingdom and Australia.
Despite these figures, the group remains optimistic about a future recovery, thanks to innovations and new strategic contracts.
