Mars and GoldenPeaks Capital Partner to Lead Renewable Energy Shift in Europe
Mars has announced its first European Renewable Acceleration contract in collaboration with GoldenPeaks Capital. This initiative supports Mars' commitment to 100% renewable energy, covering both direct operations and its full value chain. Over 100 solar projects will be launched in Poland. These projects will deliver more than 129MWac of new renewable energy, enough to power approximately 100,000 households annually. This collaboration aims to aid Poland's transition from coal to a low-carbon future.
The agreement is the largest multi-buyer renewable energy deal in Central and Eastern Europe. It will generate approximately 222 GWh annually. Partnering with Cargill enhances the scale and impact of the solar projects, complementing Mars' strategy to incorporate renewables into its entire supply chain. The company expects its Renewable Acceleration program to contribute to a 10% reduction in its carbon footprint by 2030.
