Medios AG Acquires Caelo, Strengthens European Business

Medios AG, a European Pharma Services group, has finalized the acquisition of a 74% stake in Caesar & Loretz GmbH (Caelo). The deal follows antitrust clearance and includes options to acquire the remaining 26% of shares. This move positions Medios as the leading provider of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs) for pharmacies and hospitals in Germany, while integrating Caelo into its European network with Magis Pharma and Metapharmaceutical.

Caelo, headquartered in Hilden, will continue operating under its brand, focusing on APIs, excipients, and raw materials. Medios envisions cross-border growth in Europe, leveraging common European GMP standards. The acquisition aims to broaden compounding product ranges and improve supply security, creating synergy in procurement, analyzing, and sales of APIs.

Asiye Dogan, Managing Director of Caelo, highlighted the new opportunities for sustainable growth and emphasized pharmaceutical quality, reliability, and customer relationships as core strengths of Caelo to be maintained.
