METAVISIO and BKB Energy Partner for a Data Center in Korea

METAVISIO - THOMSON Computing has announced a strategic agreement with BKB Energy to develop a data center in South Korea. The project will be located on a mining site in Yeongwol-gun with a planned power capacity of 260 MW, validated by KEPCO. An investment of up to $900 million is envisaged in the form of convertible bonds. TECHNOLOGY 1 THOMSON Computing, a subsidiary of METAVISIO, will contribute its expertise and supply the necessary GPUs.
The partnership aims to strengthen South Korea's digital infrastructure, combining energy and innovation. A due diligence phase is planned to assess regulatory, financial, and contractual aspects before finalizing the commitment. The results will guide the final decision, subject to investment committee approval and regulatory compliance.
