Munich Re Supervisory Board Enacts Management Changes

On July 23, 2025, Munich Re's Supervisory Board announced significant changes to its Board of Management. Dr. Joachim Wenning, Chairman of the Board, chose to retire by the end of 2025, coinciding with the completion of the Ambition 2025 strategy program. Dr. Christoph Jurecka will succeed him as Chairman on January 1, 2026. Jurecka, having joined Munich Re's Board as CFO in 2019, brings vast experience from his tenure at ERGO Group AG.

Andrew Buchanan, who has served as CFO within the reinsurance business since 2017, will replace Jurecka as CFO in January 2026. Additionally, Robin Johnson will join the Board as Chief Technology Officer on August 1, 2025. Johnson, currently the Chief Information Officer for reinsurance, expands his role, highlighting Munich Re's focus on technological advancements.
