Munich Re Unveils Ambition 2030 Strategy and 2026 Targets
Munich Re has announced its new multi-year strategy, Ambition 2030, aiming for persistent profit growth and significant shareholder participation. By 2030, the company targets a return on equity above 18% and an annual earnings per share growth exceeding 8%. Additionally, a total payout ratio over 80% annually and a solvency ratio above 200% are projected.
For 2026, Munich Re anticipates an IFRS net profit of €6.3 billion, bolstered by solid operational performance across all segments. Group insurance revenue is expected to reach €64 billion, with a return on investment surpassing 3.5%.
In reinsurance, the net profit is projected at €5.4 billion. Combined ratios are set to remain profitable at 80% for property-casualty reinsurance and 90% for Global Specialty Insurance. In life and health reinsurance, a technical result of €1.9 billion is expected.
