Neutral assessment of the Swiss commercial vehicle market in 2024
In 2024, the Swiss commercial vehicle market recorded 42,205 new registrations, representing a slight decrease of 38 units compared to the previous year. This stability reflects continued demand in the goods transport sector, although the popularity of motorhomes appears to be running out of steam. Registrations of heavy commercial vehicles increased by 11.6%, in particular thanks to a rise in electric trucks, which achieved a market share of 11.8%.
In contrast, electric delivery vehicles saw their market share drop to 8.1%. This highlights a lack of attractiveness for electric mobility in this segment, despite increasingly strict regulations on CO2 emissions. The outlook for 2025 shows a projected growth of 5% for light commercial vehicles. However, improvements are needed to support a more pronounced shift towards electric.
