Nexans Finalizes Sale of Autoelectric to Motherson

On July 3rd, 2026, Nexans announced the completion of its sale of Autoelectric to Samvardhana Motherson International Limited for €207 million. As a global supplier of automotive components, Motherson enhances its portfolio with this acquisition. Autoelectric, part of Nexans until July 1st, 2026, generated approximately €708 million in annual sales in 2025, employing nearly 13,000 people. This divestment represents Nexans' move towards becoming a pure electrification company, following a planned portfolio rotation.

Julien Hueber, Nexans' CEO, expressed that the sale marks a strategic focus on electrification, aligning with global energy transition opportunities. The transfer of Autoelectric employees to Motherson has been acknowledged for their contributions. Nexans, now centered on its core electrification strategy, aims to enhance shareholder value and continue its industry leadership. This move signifies Nexans' commitment to its long-term sustainability goals.
