Alibaba Supports Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games with Cloud and AI
Alibaba Group will provide cloud and AI technology for the Summer Youth Olympic Games Dakar 2026 in Senegal, marking the first Olympic event on African soil. The partnership with the International Olympic Committee and Dakar 2026 Organizing Committee aims to enhance operations and engagement while establishing a digital legacy for Senegal. An AI-powered opening ceremony featuring drum performances will bring Senegal’s Teranga spirit to life.
The dedicated cloud infrastructure from Alibaba will manage ticket sales and access across seven venues. Post-Games, the cloud platform will serve as Senegal's national digital infrastructure, enabling future AI innovations. Additionally, Alibaba will offer free online cloud computing training for Senegalese youth, aiming to support long-term digital growth.
The Youth Olympic Games, featuring 2,700 competitors in 35 sports, will run from October 31 to November 13, 2026. Alibaba's experience as an Olympic partner since Tokyo 2020 will aid in reliable event execution and contribute to Senegal's technological advancement.
