Nine Mile Metals Reveals Promising High-Grade VMS Intersections
Toronto-based Nine Mile Metals Ltd. has released assay results from its DDH WD-26-11 drill hole at the Wedge Mine in the Bathurst Mining Camp, New Brunswick. This drill hole targeted two distinct zones rich in Volcanogenic Massive Sulfide (VMS) minerals. The Upper Zone showed increased copper concentrations, reflecting copper-rich mineralogy, notably with a sample returning 3.47% copper. Below an exploration drift void, VMS mineralization continued until met by a silicified mélange.
The Lower Zone, between 110.50 and 121.20 meters, exhibited fine-grained minerals with silver and gold increasing in depth, reaching up to 117 g/t Ag and 0.805 g/t Au. A sample in this zone showed significant values: 87 g/t silver, 0.85 g/t gold, 1.06% copper, and high lead and zinc, equating to 5.68% copper-equivalent.
VP Exploration, Gary Lohman, views these results as reinforcing the potential of the Wedge, which is more robust than initially perceived. Upcoming Borehole Electromagnetic (BHEM) surveys aim to elucidate the deposit's subsurface footprint for future exploration.
