Aurubis Enhances Avellino's Copper Wire Rod Production

The modernization included various enhancements, such as a taller furnace shaft and updated refractory lining, preparing the plant for further decarbonization efforts.

The investment ensures the long-term supply of copper wire, a critical material for digital infrastructure and electrification. Aurubis plans a second phase in August 2026, with a new natural gas combustion system to boost energy efficiency by up to 10%.
