Nordex Group to Deliver 20 MW Wind Farm for Continental in Germany
Nordex SE has secured a significant order to install three N175/6.X turbines for the Twistenberg wind farm in northern Hesse, Germany. This 20 MW wind farm will generate around 55 GWh of renewable electricity annually. The energy will support the Continental tire plant in Korbach, covering approximately two-thirds of its electricity requirements when combined with existing solar systems. The agreement includes a 20-year full-service contract, ensuring ongoing operational efficiency.
The wind farm, operated and owned by Continental, highlights a direct industrial partnership, serving the plant located eight kilometers away. This collaboration promotes renewable energy usage, marking a pioneering effort in energy transition for both industrial SMEs and larger corporations. The project was developed by VEW, a subsidiary of EWF, showcasing strong cooperation between local energy utilities and industry.
Set in Waldeck-Frankenberg, ideal wind conditions promise high yields from the advanced turbine design. Construction will begin in 2026 with completion anticipated in 2028.
