Nordex Group to Supply Turbines for Community Wind Farm in North Rhine-Westphalia
Hamburg-based Nordex Group has secured an order for a 49 MW community wind farm in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. As part of the Heek-Strönfeld project, Nordex will deliver seven N175/6.X turbines, each with a hub height of 179 meters. This order includes a 25-year Premium Service contract to maintain the turbines' performance.
Installation is planned for Q2 2027, with commissioning in Q3 2027. The project, situated in the Borken district, will advance the regional energy transition. It involves several local stakeholders, including landowners, residents, and the Ahaus-Heek-Legden energy cooperative, highlighting the shift towards community-driven energy models.
The involvement of multiple parties aims to reduce fossil energy dependence and create regional value while providing renewable energy sustainably and cost-effectively. The choice of Nordex's technology underscores its reliability and economic appeal, marking the first collaboration with Bürgerwind Heek-Strönfeld.
